Project Description: Apply human factors and ergonomics principles to design a mobile/wireless application that allows blind and vision limited users to enter an address and navigate/guide them to the destination. 
User Research

My team conducted interviews with two people with visual impairments to understand their routines and how they interact with existing navigation apps. From these interviews, we highlighted key takeaways, such as the importance of physical landmarks and locating critical areas such as elevators and emergency exits, and the need for customizable settings for audio functions, vibrations, speech, etc as to cater to each individual’s preference.

Learning Outcomes: This project was my first introduction to UX/UI design, where I first learned to use softwares such as Figma to create digital wireframes for mobile applications. This project allowed me to recognize my own privilege and bias, getting to research into accessibility guidelines for those with visual impairments. With this project I discovered my interest in the field of UX/UI design and that I want to work on more  projects tackling accessibility.
